Activities

  • Bimonthly meetings (5 a year), in the CEF-specific format
  • Use of Cambridge Energy Forum members logo
  • Role in setting the future agenda
  • Events calendar of relevant meetings
As the Forum develops over the next year or so, we intend to develop:
  • We are negotiating fee discounts for Forum members with a number of organisers of energy and environmental conferences. These discounts are likely to be substantial in aggregate.
  • A White Paper series: the Cambridge Energy Papers, on technologies and social implications; but as and when we can set up an editorial board of sufficient quality and capability
  • Other types of event, such as an annual conference,
  • Support for the formation of groups of interest,
  • A reminder service for grant application deadlines relevant to our members,
  • A mechanism for bringing together groups of our members who apply for grants as partners or consortia,
  • Training to help start-up technology companies present themselves to potential investors.
...generally we want to do anything to help make the Forum members more effective at what they already do by involving other people who can help and are within easy reach. We intend that Cambridge will become recognised as the leading centre of Energy Excellence that it is. We also actively support links with regional and national bodies and other "energy relevant" communities.

Advisory Members and Principal Backers have additional promotional benefits, such as their name/logo on Forum publications and their own public page on the Forum website. We have some preliminary rules which we try to keep to, and some legal guidelines.
